You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.

A little about me
01.
I’m Kristin
I was born in North Carolina, raised in Northern California, and have also lived in Hawaii, Australia, Oregon, and Colorado. My husband and I recently returned to our home state and are living in beautiful South Lake Tahoe. I am a wildlife biologist, dog lover, and conservation photographer, hoping to share an appreciation of nature, and learning to respect and be grateful for wild places.
02.
Relationship with nature
I am in love with the mountains, forests, lakes, and the creatures that inhabit these areas. My youth was spent backpacking, skiing, and adventuring around the world. These are all ways we can reconnect with the nature around us.
03.
Photography
My dad had a Nikon SLR and developed his own photos in a dark room in the garage. I now have a Nikon full frame DSLR and a mirrorless. It started with just wanting to take pictures of critters in the backyard, and now I aim to capture mesmerizing landscapes and creatures in the wild.

Fun Fact
I was on the Chico State Tournament Water Ski Team and competed in jump skiing! I still love to water ski from my parents place in Discovery Bay, California. Also, my mom writes books from their place on the Delta and her work can be found at www.janmccleery.com
